Unused Scrap Hardwoods
The Process of Making a Cutting Board
Mac Cutting Boards is a family owned business since 2009. Bart and Josie McHale started this business as a hobby that blossomed to small thriving business today. We are often asked how we make our wooden cutting boards, where do you get your supply and where do you make it. We source for unused scrap hardwoods from professionals such as hardwood installers, cabinet makers, furniture makers, contractors and so on. They often have quality unused scrap hardwoods from projects they have completed and don't have any use for their scraps. Another great resource for us is Craigslist. We find lumber suppliers downsizing, garage sales of retired clock makers, wood hobbiest looking to get rid of their supply. We make all our products at our wood shop in San Bruno, CA. Bart is the wood craftsman (genius). He takes the scrap hardwoods, cuts it down, planes it, glues it, sands it and shapes it to produce our fabulous one of kind cutting boards.
