Musical Instruments Made From Recycled Parts

Music is the common language that we all can understand.  We just feel the rhythm and we just know what everyone is talking about it.  As you know, I love repurposing and recycling old materials or upcycling factory scraps.  I found this great blog on musical instruments that can be made from Making Multicultural Music.  I am alway amazed of the talent this is out there when it comes to repurposing.  Truly mind blowing.

Here’s a few ideas from articles and blogs I’ve found.

Ford Focus Parts

Ford Focus Parts

1. From car parts.  Who knew right?  Well, the Ford Focus provided great parts for this band of musicians.  21 parts from this car made a door harp, clutch guitar and fender bass.

2. A computer keyboard made into a musical keyboard.  There are literally tons and tons of these thrown away computer parts.  What a great way to repurpose.  I found this from a blog called Repurposing E-Waste into E-Learning.

3. Scrap soft words such as spruce or pine or really any wood and make it into a string instrument such as a violin or a guitar.  This article called Recycle Orchestra.  “The idea of repurposing materials that are part of your everyday culture has been something that a lot of cultures have done for thousands of years,” Piper explained.
