Spring Cleaning in January | Repurpose and Upcycle

Scrap Hardwoods

Scrap Hardwoods

Spring cleaning this year is really early for Mac Cutting Boards.  Our small “mom and pop” business has been overwhelmed this past year.  Which is awesome!  Business is fabulous and we are growing.  We need to develop systems in place for us to run our shop efficiently and effectively.  Makes me think about who else is out there “spring cleaning” their business.  This is truly how we started our business.  Looking for businesses who have factory scraps – unused scrap hardwoods to produce our wooden cutting boards.

Don’t throw it away, find a solution to repurpose and recycle or upcycle your “stuff” you don’t want anymore.  Here are some ideas on what to do with your excess “stuff” in your business.

1. List your “stuff” on craigslist.  If you live in California, Arizona, Texas or New York – it doesn’t matter.  Craigslist is nationwide.  You would be amaze how many people out there are so creative and want your “stuff”.

2. Have a garage sale and really sell your items like you want it to go.  No profit making here.  Your old stuff is really someone else’s treasure.  Give them the opportunity to really appreciate your old stuff at a “garage sale” price.

3. Check out Pinterest and get ideas on how YOU can do it yourself (DIY) and repurpose it into something you can appreciate.
