Repurpose and Upcycle Wood Cutting Boards

Repurpose and Upcycle Wood Cutting Boards

A great deal of emphasis these days falls upon how do we use or reuse what we have now instead of throwing it away.  Green, sustainable, and organic are all terms you are hearing these days.  Look around you.  You will be amazed on the resources out there as well as materials you can take to repurpose, recycle or upcycle (using unused pieces to make into something else).  If you are creative or want to be creative, check out these ideas on taking “old” stuff and making them into “new”.

  1. Recycle metal scrap made into a table

Scrap metal (any really).  Dornob has ideas where they take scrap metal and turn it into furniture.  Absolutely jaw dropping.

  2. Used woods from fences or homes – make a stool, a table, a picture frame, a planter and so on.  Here’s more ideas from Dornob.
  3. Unused scrap hardwoods taken from cabinet and furniture makers or hardwood flooring installers.  Unused pieces from their projects that would have tossed or used for kindling.  Make a cutting board, a table, a picture frame, a funky door frame (mis-match), a porch and so on.
  4. Old picture frames and turn them into jewelry holders, card holders, a place to hang memos for everyday.  Check out Pinterest for great ideas.

Any one of these ideas can be a great hobby for you or maybe just be able to turn it into a thriving business with a fabulous story.  We did.
