Organize Your Kitchen Starting with Hanging Your Cutting Board

Organizing your home is a daunting task and can definitely be overwhelming.  Start with one room at a time to bring your focus to a minimal and then concentrate on how you want to organize that room.  Visualize how that room should look like with or without the items you currently have in there and then go for it!  My recommendation, start with your kitchen.  I don’t know about you, but when my kitchen is clean and organize (that is, I know where everything is at and I can get to it), I feel 1000%  relieved to move on to the next project.  Here are some ideas.

  1. Hang what you can – pots and pans, your aprons and mits, cooking utensils and your cutting boards.  It is especially convenient if your wooden cuttings boards has a hole.  Old cutting boards?  Not to worry.  Repurpose it into pockets to hang your cooking utensils.  Check out DIY Kitchen Storage Ideas.
  2. Build shelves in your kitchen cabinets.  Don’t waste space especially the top part.  Usually, when our shelves are high, we tend to stack items in there.  Add a shelf and see it plainly.
  3. Donate your old can goods.  Trust me cleansing your space leaves more for you to put in.
  4. Put away what you can from your counter tops like your toaster or coffee maker.  Your space will look so open when those items are not being displayed.
