Consider Repurposing, Recycling and Functional

Great subject matter!  Repurposing and recycling old and used pieces and parts and make it into something functional either decorative or a tool to use around the house.  Sometimes coming up with ideas make it challenging.  First, look around your home.  I bet you can find pieces that you haven’t used in a long time, tucked away in a closet, garage or attic waiting for it to be revived again.  Here’s some ideas I found that are pretty simple and easy to repurpose your old stuff and make it into new stuff.

1. Name picture frames.  I found this idea from the Upcycling Community in Facebook.  Great resource for fabulous ideas!  Take your old picture frames and spell you first or last name out.  Take fancy duct tape or wasabi tape for the background and add the 3D letters that from Joann’s or Beverly’s.  Hang it on the wall.  Voila!  Shabby chic art!

2. Utensil Key Rack.  Seriously.  Don’t you have utensils laying around that doesn’t belong to a set anymore?  Don’t throw them away or sale them off at a garage sale.  Take the ones you think are funky and cool and flatten them out.  Nail them to a piece of wood and hang it in your kitchen or foyer.  Great way to organize your keys.  You won’t say “where are my keys?” anymore.
